Eldon Shamblin - 1986 Rare Singing Performance
New a fiddle player named Walter had a very long nose Played with Bob Wills Always drank 1 beer at a Airline beer joint in Houston Texas WAS a good Man Strataverous Violen he had Left it to his son he told me that before he departed
My grandpa bounced at Cain's and the Cimarron Ballroom back in the late 40's and 50's. He died in 1996, I had an uncle who came over and took all of the Texas Playboys memorabilia away, I was 17 back then. I didn't know what was walking away until I went to Stillwater and discovered Oklahoma music on the Strip four years later. In my mind, I can remember this one piece made out of paper machete. It was kinda like a birthday cake with figurines of the Texas Playboys on it. It was pretty cool. Definitely handmade, definitely authentic. God Bless ya'll.
Cowboy tune god bless
My heart wife 1st love fadded 7 7 1977
Thanks 🙏
Leon on bass
For me, Eldon defined the difference between this and everything else. Those descants are genius.
Actually this wasn’t there last concert. My dad owns the band now and they play a lot
6-19-2024 anybody besides me still listening to bob willis and the Texas playboys
6-30-2024... I have listened to this way more times than I can count.
With Leon on bass
Thanks y’all
"he can't play in D minor"
Wonderful. Thanks for the upload!
Johnny Gimble - ah ha.
Wow they were out of tune. I got to see them in Hermann Park in 1986, thank goodness. Great experience.
That last song was perfect
Agreed
Both of them were.
"Once your back in Texas Bob Wills is still the king".
Thanks for the videos💙Gracias
The best music💙
We will never see a band as good as Bob Wills and his Texas playboys. I listen to his music every week!❤
got to shake hands with these men maybe '83-4....gentlemen all, a dream for aa kid that played drums behind his dad in the '60s who always opened with the San Antonio Rose
I am too young to have heard Bob Wills live, but my grandparents probably danced to his live music at ballroom he and his band played at all the time.
Dang beautiful.
My Dad was Tommy Jackson. Or that's what Bob called him. He could never remember that Dad's last name was Ashmore.
Super old stuff. Can't be beat.
My grandmother Ollie Camren would play this song 'Faded Love' well into her 80;s, She lived to age 97. I have her fiddle that she played along with the old 'coffin box' case.
Faded love is probably the greatedt western song ever written
Bob Wills is Still the King 🤴 of Western Swing!!!
I miss waltzing to Faded Love and dancing to San Antonio Rose.
Awesome. Greatest musicians ever. 83 years listen every chance I get. Thank you Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel for keeping this going
Hey some we are not forgotten bobstill is theking
Always enjoyed Johnny Gimble fiddle playing on the intro to this.
Even the Rolling Stones covered "Bob Wills is Still the 'Kang'" with Ron Wood playing steel.
Bob's brother, it was told wrote lyrics for this.
I was born in '61 and been a rock-n-roller all my life (born & raised Texan). Having said that, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the music of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys! Thanks for posting this!
Are you related to Eldon?
Great performance bab mix
Miss that country western sound.
Wow great job Mr E

I am enjoying this so much..my childhood in NW Arkansas was filled with Leon and the Boys...Daddy arranged dances and we were always there. They would come by the house after..that big ol bus,,In Tulsa, The Cimarron ....such wonderful memories.
Beautifu Bob Wills and this concert so important
Can this be found in its entirety on DVD? If it is out there, I would sure love to have it. Those fellows were fantastic until the end. The vocals, instrumentals, and everything was fantastic until the curtain closed for them. ❤️
Muy emotivo no hay palabras para disfrutar de estas memorias
